The Ardnamurchan Bunkhouse
The Ardnamurchan Bunkhouse provides spacious and affordable holiday accommodation, using the latest in eco-technology, incorporating a wood chip heating system.
Visitors can explore the area by car, on foot and by bike from a base that’s rooted in the Highlands. This stunning woodland setting is part of the ancient Loch Sunart oak forest and our Bunkhouse has an Oak wood area and woodland meadow to encourage the proliferation of flora and fauna; here and in the nearby RSPB nature reserve, you’ll have lots of opportunities to observe the local wildlife, including Sea Eagle, Otter, wild goats, red squirrels, pine martens along with Roe and Red deer.
The grounds of the Ardnamurchan Bunkhouse are specifically managed to encourage wildlife such as bats, moths and tawny owls and to provide shelter for our Roe and Red Deer which are daily visitors to the grounds and a secure refuge for our Red Squirrels and Pine Martens. The tranquil setting of the bunkhouse encourages visits from large raptors such as the Sea Eagle and Golden Eagles with Tawny Owl and Goshawk nesting within the established woodland around the Bunkhouse. If you are really lucky, you may see the Scottish Wildcat visit us when hunting along the ancient forest edge.
